Smart ways to cut your freight costs 

Comparing quotations on-the-fly is simply too hard - if you're doing it manually.

• Quotations are complicated
• Quotations from different forwarders vary immensely
• Quotations change all the time

So comparing quotations from just two forwarders is a challenge; comparing more than two quotations on-the-fly is certainly impractical, if not next to impossible.

I just stick to the same tried and tested forwarder regardless of origin or destination.

The trouble is, with quotations changing all the time the forwarder that was most economic at one time may not be the next time.

We just use some standard rules of thumb to select a forwarder, based on our experience built up over time.

But, while a forwarder may be competitive on one route, they may not be on another route. And experience is hard to replace: what happens when a key staff member leaves?

If you're not comparing quotations on-the-fly for every shipment, you can't be sure you're getting the best rates for your freight.
